Well… this is one of the best perks of being a tenured faculty member!

I’m incredibly privileged to share that I’ll be on sabbatical for the entire 2026–27 academic year. My project is to compose, practice, arrange, and produce an album of all-original music, which I’ll record in Spring 2027 in a brand new recording studio at Las Positas College in Livermore.

The album will feature some of my incredibly talented Las Positas College colleagues, including bassist Cindy Browne Rosefield, drummer Jeff Marrs, and guitarist Ryan Pate.

I’m very excited—and grateful—to spend this year primarily being an artist. My last album Likewise was released way back in 2011 so 'tis time!

Stay tuned for upcoming album release concerts!
